The FaceWorkshops Story
The idea of FaceWorkshops began when growing up surrounded by the beautiful nature of Southern Bohemia, discovering herbs and wild plants that work wonders for teenage skin. I was interested in traditional remedies and lotions from an early age and wanted a career in medicine or science.
I trained as a beauty therapist whist at my second year at university studying clinical biochemistry and opened my first beauty therapy room in 1991. After graduating in 1994 - my MSc degree
involved a dissertation in self-tanning of the skin - I moved to Finland to continue a PhD in skin science and specialised in post-menopausal skin research.
In 1998, I moved to Britain and started working for Smith & Nephew Wound Management division in Hull, East Yorkshire. For the next eight years I researched patients' psychology, wound healing and commercial aspects of medical skincare.
Over the last 20 years, my professional journey has taken me to Finland, Switzerland, Germany as well as Japan and the US before launching FaceWorkshops in 2009 in Beverley, East Yorkshire. After my daughter was born, I decided to go back to helping people to feel good about their appearance and taking care of their skin by regular skincare routines, facial massage and facial exercise.
To expand my treatment portfolio, I trained in facial reflexology (2009) and specialised in Asian massage techniques (Chinese Booster and Japanese Facelift, 2010).
